Plastic Free Eastbourne Newsletter

Issue #43: August 2024

A New Political Environment

Welcome to Plastic Free Eastbourne's monthly campaign update. This month we consider a new way forward.

This month's newsletter marks a big development in our town and country. Plastic Free Eastbourne is not in any way party political but it is obviously affected by politics. We have a new MP ~ congratulations to Josh Babarinde. I wish him every success in his endeavours to improve Eastbourne's efforts to reduce global heating and to fight against the impact of climate change ~ all this within an eco-friendly context. I trust that he will keep in mind in all that he does, that our town is “Plastic Free Eastbourne”. I also wish to thank Caroline Ansell for all of her support and leadership in helping our cause. Our country now has a different political stance. The government's fundamental ambition is “growth”. I will be doing all that I can to influence our government to encourage growth through sustainability, within the context of tackling global heating.
